Celtic defender Boli Bolingoli has tipped teammate Odsonne Edouard to go and become a ‘big striker’ in the world of football.
The 24-year-old has been blown away by the Frenchman following his move to the club this summer from Rapid Vienna, and reckons he has the capacity to a star in the future.
Edouard has been in fine form for the Hoops so far in 2019/20, scoring 10 goals in 18 appearances.
He stands to play a key role for Celtic this term, with Rangers looking like they’ll throw down a tougher challenge for the Premiership title.
Bolingoli knows a good striker when he sees one, with Manchester United’s loaned out striker Romelu Lukaku (who cost a reported £90 million to sign from Everton, BBC Sport) the Belgian’s cousin.
Speaking about his Parkhead teammate, he said (Daily Record): “You see how good he is every day. Even with the national team.
“He shows his quality every time he plays and for me, he is a big talented player and I can only wish him all the best in his career.
“He is going to get better and better.
“For sure he can go to the level of Romelu. Odsonne is still young and is still progressing but in time, for me, he can become a big striker in the football world.”
TBR’s view – Edouard potential is vast
Edouard certainly has high potential – whether he can reach the level of someone like Lukaku though is a big ask.
The star, who is on loan at Inter Milan, already has over 100 Premier League goals to his name and is already Belgium’s highest goalscorer of all-time at the age of 26.
Edouard is a brilliant player but to reach Lukaku’s level he will soon have to leave Scottish football.
