Celtic are reportedly interested in signing Bournemouth striker Lys Mousset (The Scottish Sun).
The Frenchman has emerged as something of surprise target for the Hoops, who seem unlikely to be making permanent plays for Timo Weah and Oliver Burke.
Mousset has been with the Cherries since 2016 and has made 58 Premier League appearances so far.
The south coast club have apparently slapped a £10 million price tag on the striker, which would mean he would cost more to buy than club-record signing Odsonne Edouard (£9 million from Paris Saint-Germain, Sky Sports).
It is understood that Mousset would be open to a move to Parkhead given the successes of fellow countrymen Edouard and Moussa Dembele.
It would be very strange of Celtic to break their transfer record on a player who has scored just five goals for the club and three in the Premier League.
Mousset has made just one start this term, coming off the bench 23 times in the league.
He is behind Callum Wilson and Josh King in the pecking order and previously struggled in competition with those two and Jermain Defoe and Benik Afobe.
He hasn’t proved himself and so for Celtic to go and make him a more expensive transfer than Edouard, who had at least proved himself on loan at Parkhead first, would be somewhat strange business.
Bhoys officials should be seeking a far cheaper transfer than that if they really do want him.
