Celtic should consider Callum Hudson-Odoi loan in January

Chelsea attacker Callum Hudson-Odoi could reportedly be loaned out in January, which is why Scottish giants Celtic should be eyeing a swoop in the New Year.

According to Sky Sports, the Premier League outfit will listen to loan offers in January and would prefer not to offload him to a direct top-six rival in England.

The 18-year-old is a rising talent at Stamford Bridge with a huge reputation and he’s already featured seven times for the club’s first team.

But the skilful left-winger is struggled to make a serious senior impact under Maurizio Sarri and the decision has now been taken to grant him first-team experience elsewhere.

Celtic signed 22-year-old Charly Musonda on loan from Chelsea for the second half of last season, but the wide man completely flopped and failed to score in his eight games.

But Rodgers can right that wrong by giving Hudson-Odoi more opportunities at Parkhead and proving young talents can develop in Scotland.

Hudson-Odoi has never been loaned out before in his career unlike Musonda and is at the beginning of his senior path.

He is a winger with tremendous pace and technical ability, which has seen him cause havoc at youth level and he now needs to transform that on the bigger stage.

Hudson-Odoi has looked a real menace when featuring for Chelsea’s senior team and could give Celtic an injection in the final third in the second half of the season.
