Celtic should also target Timothy Weah's team-mate Colin Dagba
It appears Celtic are about to welcome Timothy Weah to Parkhead. The USA international has confirmed he is leaving the French club on loan in January. The Guardian is reporting that Celtic are in pole position to sign the player, using their good links with the Ligue 1 side to push through a deal.
It would be a great signing for Celtic. Weah would be arriving in a much-needed role.
However, another player reportedly up for loan in the French capital should also be on their radar.
As reported by L’Equipe, Colin Dagba is also being considered as a potential loan departure for 2019.
He is on the verge of a return from a niggling injury problem and would be perfect for Celtic.
The 20-year-old talent made his debut for the club this season, playing in the Trophee des Champions clash with Monaco. He has since made two further appearances for the club.
But the reason why Celtic should be keen is due to his position. Dagba is a full-back, an area where Celtic have struggled in recent times. Whilst Anthony Ralston has finally been given his chance to shine, Dagba would still provide a better alternative on either side to Cristian Gamboa or Emilio Izaguirre.
With the likes of Timo Kehrer, Thomas Meunier, Juan Bernat and Dani Alves ahead of him in the PSG pecking order, a loan makes sense.
In the long-term, a future away from the Parcs des Princes also seems likely. Celtic could, therefore, be getting their hands on a brilliant long-term option.
Weah should not be the only PSG player heading to Glasgow this week.
