‘We love you’: Celtic fans react to match winning performance of Scott Brown

Celtic secured a 1-0 victory over Kilmarnock yesterday to go eight points clear of Rangers in the race to win the title.

The Hoops left it late against a stubborn Killie outfit, with Scott Brown’s goal in stoppage time securing the crucial win.

Brendan Rodgers’ men did dominate the contest but some wayward finishing made the task in hand all the more difficult.

Brown made sure that Celtic didn’t late Rangers off the hook for a 0-0 draw with St Johnstone on Saturday.

His deflected effort sent the Hoops’ supporters into raptures, whilst Brown’s celebrations earned him a second yellow card and an early bath.

It will take a monumental effort from Rangers if they are to overturn Celtic’s current eight-point advantage, with another title beckoning for Rodgers.

Combative midfielder Brown once again showed his worth to Celtic’s loyal supporters with his late strike.

Since arriving at Celtic Park in 2007, the legendary midfielder has played 332 games and netted 26 goals, whilst he has also laid claim to 55 Scotland caps.

The 33-year-old will go down as a legend of Scottish football when he does call time on an illustrious playing career.

His goal yesterday wasn’t the easiest on the eye but the impact it has on the title race could see it live long in the memory.
