Bayo signs

Celtic have completed the signing of Vakoun Issouf Bayo from Dunajska Streda on a four-year deal.

The Bhoys have staved off competition from Rapid Vienna and Dinsmore Kiev.

Bayo joins having plundered 18 goals for Streda in just 23 games this season.

He will now compete with Odsonne Edouard and new signing Timothy Weah for minutes in Brendan Rodgers’ attack, with Leigh Griffiths still on an a break from football.

Trapp linked

Celtic are reportedly keen on signing MLS star Wil Trapp this month.

The Columbus Crew midfielder has made 177 appearances for his club but reports in the States (via The Scotsman) are suggesting his time there is drawing to a close.

Trapp, a defensive minded midfielder who has 11 caps for the USA, could potentially end up as a replacement for Scott Brown who is a target for A League outfit Western Melbourne.

Whatmough eyed

The Sun claim Celtic are tracking Portsmouth defender Jack Whatmough.

Whatmough is out of contract at the end of the season and could be available on the cheap this month.

Apparently there is no new deal on the table, meaning the Bhoys could bag themselves a bargain – there is competition in the form of Rangers and Aberdeen though.
