Shved ‘not needed’
Brendan Rodgers has publicly admitted that he doesn’t need the incoming Maryan Shved.
The Celtic boss confirmed the club are set to sign the Ukrainian winger, but conceded he doesn’t know all that much about him.

He said following the 4-0 win over St. Mirren, as quoted by The Daily Mail: “I can’t say I know a great deal about him but what I have seen he is a talent and something that will probably benefit the club in the future.
“We’ve got about a million wingers and don’t need another one but he’s a talent and in the summer we’ll probably lose wingers and he’ll look to come in.”
Fans will be hoping the youngster can prove his new manager wrong and bring something to the table.
Burke ‘a talent’
Brendan Rodgers has hailed new signing Oliver Burke after his two-goal showing against St. Mirren.

The forward, on loan from West Bromwich Albion is off the mark for his new club after starting as a central striker at Parkhead on Wednesday.
Rodgers gushed, as quoted by the club’s official website: “Ollie is a talent. We’re coaching him, and giving him clarity in what he has to do. But his strength and power is phenomenal, and his touch is good. His job is to create goals and score goals. He assisted at the weekend and he’s got his goals against St Mirren.”
Gutman imminent
In attendance for the St. Mirren clash last night was Andrew Gutman (as reported by The Daily Record, live blog 11.02am, January 24).

The 22-year-old is expected to seal his move to Parkhead imminently, with the club having won the race to sign him last week according to The Daily Record.
The Chicago Fire player could even potentially be available for selection against Hamilton Academical this weekend.
