Maja valued

Celtic are supposedly interested in signing Josh Maja this month, and his valuation has now been revealed.

According to The Sun, the Black Cats want £4 million for the 20-year-old, who has scored 15 goals in League One so far this season.

Cardiff City are believed to have had a £2million bid rejected for the player, who is out of contract the Stadium of Light this summer.

Maja was offered a new £6000-a-week contract to remain at Sunderland but that was rejected as he eyes his future elsewhere.

Morgan tug-of-war

Brendan Rodgers, ruling out a return to his former club, said: “We’ve had enquiries but nothing imminent that I’m aware of. We’ve spoken about the idea of going on loan but he has a number of possibilities. He loved his time at St Mirren and it’s nothing against the club or manager.”

Morgan joined the club a year ago and was immediately loaned back to St. Mirren. He has made 13 appearances for the club.

Iorfa ‘not a target’

Rodgers has poured cold water on the reports linking Wolverhampton Wanderers outcast Dominic Iorfa to Parkhead (The Scotsman).

The ex-Liverpool boss claimed Iorfa was ‘not one that I’m aware of’, after he was linked with a pre-contract move for the versatile defender.

Iorfa has been been viewed by some as a potential long-term replacement for Mikael Lustig.
