Scouts have been watching Jeremy Toljan’s progress, but are said to have walked away impressed by Tierney.

Burke ‘so happy’  to be back playing

On-loan forward Oliver Burke has expressed his delight at his Celtic experience so far.

The West Bromwich Albion player has won five senior caps for Scotland but hasn’t added to that tally for two years. Now, he is back in the picture now after being called up by Alex McLeish for the upcoming games against Kazakhstan and San Marino.

Attributing his return to his Celtic experience, he said (The Scotsman): “I’m really happy with the way things have gone here at Celtic. It’s put me in a great position and that’s got me the call-up.

“This move is something I really needed to kick-start my career. I’d been starved of football but I’m so happy to be back playing now.”

Lustig on future

Celtic full-back Mikael Lustig has revealed that, while he has talked with Neil Lennon about his future, he is no nearer to resolving it.

The Sweden international will become a free agent at the end of the season as things currently stand.

He told Celtic View, quoted by The Daily Record: “Neil and I talked together shortly after he returned

“We discussed a little bit about my situation and about what might happen next year. We’re both in a situation where we don’t know what the future holds come the summer.

“You naturally want to know what the future holds but in football that’s not always the case and I’m used to that.”
