Arzani omission

Celtic star Daniel Arzani has been left out of Brendan Rodgers’ Europa League squad.

The highly rated Australia international failed to make the 43-man list, which has certainly come as a surprise to the majority of supporters.

Arzani joined the Hoops on loan a matter of weeks ago after securing a move to Premier League champions Manchester City.

He will spend the next two seasons at Parkhead.

But he won’t be featuring in the Europa League this season, which Rodgers’ number two Chris Davies has put down to a lack of speed and conditioning, as reported by the Scottish Sun.

He’ll be hoping to get over the disappointment quickly by making his mark in the Scottish Premiership, after making his reserves bow in the 3-0 defeat to Hamilton.

Mulumbu vow

Youssuf Mulumbu wants to give fans a reason to forget the ‘poor’ summer transfer window of 2018.

The ex-West Brom midfielder is determined to become ‘a big name player’ for Celtic.

He’ll have his work cut out replacing one of Olivier Ntcham or Scott Brown though.

But Mulumbu is confident he can win the fans over.

He said, as quoted by The Herald: “Big names happen when you play well,” he said. “I can be a big name in a few months if I score against Rangers and play in some good game.

“It’s a once-in-a-lifetime opportunity for me in my career.

“I believe that I will be a good match for Celtic.”

Ntcham Derby delight

Olivier Ntcham was delighted to have bagged the winning goal in the Old Firm Derby with Rangers.

The midfield dynamo struck in the second half on Sunday to hand Celtic a deserved 1-0 victory.

Ntcham has had a fine start to the new season and looks like he could surpass the nine goals he scored last term.

On his latest strike, he said as quoted by the club’s official website: “It’s a special moment.

“It’s always special to score against this team so it’s good.

“It’s been a very good start for me personally and, thankfully, I’ve been able to help the team.”
