Celtic are reportedly looking to rake in an enormous £15million for midfielder Olivier Ntcham amid reported interest from two European sides, but a move to one Premier League side could benefit the Frenchman more.

Magazine France Football have claimed that both FC Porto and Andre Villas-Boas’ Marseille want to sign the 23-year-old midfielder. The report claims Celtic want at least £15million for Ntcham.

The former Manchester City midfielder has shone north of the border during the last two seasons. Clocking up 85 appearances in all competitions, he has scored 15 goals and on six trophies with the Hoops.

It is no surprise that he is gaining interest from two big European clubs, but Newcastle United have to enter the race to land Ntcham given that he is available for £15million.

Newcastle confirmed their retained list on their official website earlier this week. One big name was included on the list, in the form of midfielder Mo Diame. Some fans have questioned the decision to let him leave for nothing.

Diame was a key part of the Newcastle side, contributing to the engine room, possession and even scoring the odd goal from midfield. Newcastle need to replace him, and Ntcham would be an excellent option.

Eight years Diame’s junior, Ntcham is more than capable of finding the back of the net and although it looks as though he strolls about the pitch – he is quicker than first perceived.

His intelligence allows him to conserve energy by being in the right place at the right time. Ntcham has shown that he is more than capable of Premier League football with his performances at Celtic.

For £15million, Ntcham would be a superb signing.
