Celtic are looking at Roma goalkeeper Robin Olsen as Neil Lennon continues to search for a replacement for Fraser Forster, according to a report from The Scotsman.

The Hoops are yet to make a signing between the sticks with Forster returning to Southampton after his inspired loan at Parkhead.

But The Scotsman has claimed that Olsen is on Celtic’s radar having been monitored by the Bhoys for some time this season.

Olsen arrived at Roma for around £10.9 million (via The Scotsman). However, he has spent this past campaign on loan at Serie A rivals Cagliari having struggled to replace Alisson with the Giallorossi.

He has made 17 league appearances for Cagliari, who boast one of the better defensive records in the bottom-half of the table.

TBR View: Olsen form may concern Celtic fans, but Forster loan provides reason for optimism

Olsen has not had the best time in Italy. And that may leave some Celtic supporters feeling a little wary amid the links with the 30-year-old.

However, the loan spell Forster enjoyed should arguably provide reason for encouragement should Celtic manage to land Olsen.

Forster arrived having endured a tough time with the Saints. But he proved to be an outstanding signing for the club.

He has added to the pressure on the man who will take the gloves next term. But Olsen is a player with a lot of quality, so perhaps he may prove to be another coup should Celtic get something done.
