Celtic have reportedly made an approach to take West Ham United star Robert Snodgrass on loan.

The Daily Record have claimed the Hoops are after bringing the 33-year-old back to Scotland 12 years after he left Livingston to join Leeds United.

He is yet to make an appearance for the Hammers in the Premier League, and missed out on a place in the squad for today’s top-flight game against Leicester City.

Snodgrass wants a better chance of regular first-team football, and could now potentially wind up as a Celtic player before tomorrow’s transfer deadline.

West Ham and Celtic have already done business this window of course, with striker Albian Ajeti moving to Parkhead for a reported fee of £5 million.

The industrious star – who cost West Ham a reported £10 million (BBC Sport) may be approaching the end of his career, but his game currently doesn’t show any signs of slowing down.

He’s been very lively for the Hammers in the EFL Cup, and his energy and versatility to be able to play on either wing or in the middle could be very welcome for Celtic.

Plus there is his quality from set-pieces, which is an added bonus.
