Scottish champions Celtic are among four clubs interested in signing Brighton striker Glenn Murray during this month’s transfer window, as per the Guardian.
They report that Neil Lennon’s side have shown an interest in the 35-year-old hitman, who has 201 career goals to his name (via Transfermarkt).
Celtic apparently face competition from the Premier League in the shape of Newcastle United and Aston Villa, with both clubs struggling for goals.
Nottingham Forest are chasing promotion out of the Championship and are also apparently keen on a swoop for Englishman Murray, who has slipped down the pecking order at the Amex Stadium this term.

TBR’s View – Murray knows where the net is but Celtic fans could be forgiven for wanting more
In truth, Murray could do a job in Scottish football. He knows where the net is and could prove to be a useful backup plan off the bench.
But the fact that Jermain Defoe, who was a far better striker in his prime, hasn’t exactly set the world alight at Rangers indicates that it wouldn’t be a walk in the park.
And Brighton’s style of play has improved hugely since replacing Murray’s aging legs with livewire Neal Maupay up front this season, so Celtic fans could be forgiven for wanting a striker who offers more in general play and is more of a long term option.
