Celtic lead Rangers by 10 points in the quest to land their eighth Scottish Premiership title in succession.
As a result, it looks like a foregone conclusion that the league silverware will head to Celtic Park once more.
It leaves Rangers boss Steven Gerrard with lots of work to do next season to ensure a more competitive race.
It would appear that the Glaswegian giants are set to go head-to-head in the summer for Chelsea defender Tomas Kalas.
According to the Scottish Sun, the duo wants to sign the £5 million-rated ace who is currently on loan at Bristol City.
The centre-back has played 31 games for the Robins this season, throwing them into contention for the play-offs in the process.
Kalas was in action for the Czech Republic on Friday night as they faced England at Wembley.
If the Old Firm were on a scouting mission to watch Kalas then they might have just changed their minds about landing the defender.
The 25-year-old was given the runaround by Raheem Sterling, Harry Kane, and Jadon Sancho. The Czechs were thumped 5-0 and Kalas capped a miserable night by putting through his own net.
Of course, one game doesn’t make a bad player but at £5 million he isn’t considered cheap for Rangers or Celtic.
Kalas has played the majority of his club football in England’s second tier.
His latest international showing won’t have completely ruined his chances of signing for Rangers or Celtic but this was a massive opportunity to showcase his talent.
The challenge for Kalas now is to finish the season on a high with Bristol City and hope a bid is still forthcoming during the summer.
