Neil Lennon’s Celtic will hope to keep building on their impressive domestic form as they head to St Mirren tonight.
The Hoops put five unanswered goals past Ross County at the weekend, while before the international break, they beat Motherwell 3-0 at Parkhead.
Up next for Celtic is a trip to Paisley in what was supposed to be a fixture contested last month, though it was postponed due to Boli Bolingoli’s actions.
Since then, the Bhoys have been playing catch-up, though victory tonight will narrow the gap to the top to three points.
Given how well Celtic did with 3-5-2 last time out, Lennon is likely to keep this formation.
In goal, Vasilis Barkas has kept three consecutive clean sheets in the league and is all-but sure to be given the chance of making it four.
The defence may have had some teething issues last time out but, if anything, it means Lennon will probably stick with the same players – Shane Duffy, Christopher Jullien and Kristoffer Ajer – for the sake of fine-tuning.
Jeremie Frimpong impressed against Ross County at right wing-back and should keep his place, meaning James Forrest will continue on the left, a fairly new role for him.
While Olivier Ntcham did well at the weekend, the £4.5million ace is vying with Ryan Christie for the same position.
So, given there’s a game at the weekend too, Lennon could swap the two over and bring back the 25-year-old Scot.
Scott Brown and Callum McGregor will complete the midfield, and up front, Odsonne Edouard and Albian Ajeti are forging a great strike partnership, so they’ll most likely be kept in.
