Jozo Simunovic has posted a hilarious video of his tackle on former Rangers star Kenny Miller from Celtic’s 5-1 in over Rangers back in April 2017 – prompting reaction from Scott Brown and Mikael Lustig.
Simunovic, 25, is now in his fifth season at Celtic after joining the club from Dinamo Zagreb in the summer of 2015. This season, he has only managed seven appearances in all competitions with injury hampering his progress.
Just over two years ago, goals from Scott Sinclair, Dedryck Boyata, Callum McGregor, Leigh Griffiths and Lustig saw Celtic smash Rangers 5-1 at Ibrox, with Miller scoring Rangers’ only goal of the game.
A highlight – from Celtic fans’ perspective – was Croat defender Simunovic’s tackle on Miller, which sent the veteran flying into the air. He posted a video of the tackle on Instagram, combined with the Titanic theme tune.
The rivalry between Celtic and Rangers is as fierce as ever, as Steven Gerrard’s side continue in their fight to prevent Neil Lennon’s men from reaching 10 in a row. Rangers currently sit top, after Celtic lost to Livingston last time out.
Celtic captain Scott Brown replied in equally hilarious manner, joking it was the “best touch” Simunovic has had in Celtic colours – meanwhile former Celtic ace Lustig also replied. Simunovic’s caption is translated as: “Football is simple. Very simple.”
