Omar Elabdellaoui is a perfect signing for Celtic who desperately need a right-back

Celtic are on the verge of winning the Scottish Premiership and could finish the season by completing a triple treble.

Neil Lennon could be the man who oversees the remarkable feat; although it remains to be seen whether or not the interim boss will be at Parkhead next season.

The ex-Celtic midfielder is worshipped by the Hoops faithful but the club’s hierarchy may have other ideas.

Whoever is in the hot seat will surely be entering the transfer market to scour for new additions. After years of dominance domestically, the challenge for Celtic is to make more of an impact in Europe.

According to SDNA, the Hoops are keen on signing  Olympiacos defender Omar Elabdellaoui. The report suggests that the Greek outfit will demand £4.5 million for the right-back.

The 27-year-old has netted four goals and claimed six assists for the Greek giants this season and previously spent time on the books of Manchester City.

Signing the 34-time Norway international would be a decent acquisition for Celtic, not least because it would see them fill a problem position.

Mikael Lustig is out of contract in the summer, whilst Jeremy Toljan is likely to return to Dortmund following the end of his loan spell.

As a result, a right-back is an absolute must this summer. Elabdellaoui is accustomed to playing in a league not too dissimilar to the Scottish Premiership; whilst his European football experience can be a big plus for Celtic.
