Celtic must consider Ian Poveda with Leeds open to loan
After a rough start Ange Postecoglou looks to be making a real impact at Celtic with the Hoops now winning five on the spin in all competitions.
The club have done some inspired work in the transfer market of late. And after being told by some they were a few years from being ready to challenge for the title again, the Bhoys look to have the potential to put real pressure on their rivals this year.
Certainly, it would be a huge boost if Celtic could bring another couple of players in before the deadline passes.
And perhaps one potential opportunity has now opened up.
The Yorkshire Evening Post reported this week that Leeds are open to loaning out Ian Poveda for the coming campaign.
Poveda showed some promise last season as Marcelo Bielsa’s men shone in their first year back in the Premier League.
He made 14 appearances off the bench at Elland Road.
He perhaps did not kick on as some expected. And he has not featured for the first-team or under-23s at the beginning of this campaign.
But with regular minutes, he could be a potential game-changer for another club.
Celtic could arguably with greater depth in wider areas. And Poveda is a player who the potential to get fans off their seats with a moment of skill while bursting into the box.
It would be a gamble. But with Leeds open to loaning him out, the risk is reduced significantly.
And for Poveda, a loan to Celtic would give him to platform to play at another massive club before returning to Leeds or perhaps heading elsewhere.
