Celtic might have their very own Harry Kane in Mikey Johnston
When Celtic allowed Leigh Griffiths some time away from the club to deal with personal issues, the immediate worry was clear. Celtic were now looking very short of striking options. Odsonne Edouard looked like their only real option. When the Frenchman picked up a niggling injury, Celtic fans were even more worried.
However, young striker Mikey Johnston has stepped up. After scoring his first goal for the club against Motherwell in midweek, he bagged a brace against Dundee yesterday in a 3-0 win.
Celtic fans have known about his talent for some time now but, with the chance now presented to him, it seems he might take it.
His playing style certainly has a touch of the Harry Kane’s about it.

His goals so far have been brilliantly taken. He used strength, guile and a fantastic clean strike to score his first two goals. His third goal in two games came with a well-timed run and header.
He looks like an all-around perfect striker. Capable on both feet, strong, deceptively quick and good in the air. The comparisons with Kane are clear to see.
Like Johnston, Kane came through the ranks at his local club and took his chance when Spurs were low on strikers.
Johnston looks like he might have done the same thing. Celtic may have their very own Harry Kane.
