Celtic midfielder Callum McGregor has spoken out following Scotland’s embarrassing 3-0 defeat (BBC Sport) to Kazakhstan.
Alex McLeish’s side lost the first of their Euro 2020 qualifiers to a side ranked 117th in the world, and the fallout is now in full flow.

Scotland were two goals down within 10 minutes and conceded again just after the break. They were unable to trouble the hosts and didn’t have a single shot on target until the 55th minute.
Before this result, Kazakhstan had registered just one win in their last 20 qualifiers.
McGregor, who wore the captain’s armband in the absence of Andy Robertson, made no effort to hide his fury and embarrassment after the game.
He said, as quoted by The Daily Express: “We just have to hold our hands up. We were nowhere near it tonight.

“We never implemented what we were trying to do. We didn’t use the ball well enough or get the ball into the frontman quick enough or do the things we were asked to do. The players have to hold our hands up.
“We didn’t do what we were asked to do. It’s a bad result.”
TBR’s view
It’s not just a bad result as McGregor puts it, it’s a shocking result.
The Scottish FA must now seriously consider McLeish’s position as head coach.

Scotland were second best all over the pitch against the minnows and that should not have been allowed to happen against that level of opposition.
The team now take on San Marino in their next game, and must regroup to avoid what would be an even more embarrasing situation if they lost.
