Celtic are looking at reinforcements for next season and Voetbal International is linking them with a move for midfielder Mark Diemers.
The 25-year-old is currently playing for Fortuna Sittard of the Eredivisie, netting eight goals and registering eight assists last season.
His current club just avoided relegation last season and a move to the Scottish champions could prove appealing.
Diemers is a versatile forward, playing the majority of his football last season as a number ten. He is capable of occupying positions on either flank, however.
Celtic will be in the market for some new recruits this summer, particularly in attack. Oliver Burke and Tim Weah will return to their parent clubs, leaving voids to fill in the final third.
The Hoops aren’t the only club interested. The report suggests that Freiburg, Hamburg, Mainz and Gent are all showing interest in the Dutchman.
Diemers could prove to be a solid acquisition for Celtic if they can get a deal over the line.
Bundesliga clubs are interested in his services but the lure of Champions League football with Celtic could make them favourites.
The Hoops are desperate to add some quality to their squad. Steven Gerrard looks capable of reviving Rangers next season, so Celtic need to get ahead of the game.
Diemers would represent an upgrade on their current attacking midfield options, whilst he probably won’t break the bank either.
