Celtic secured a safe passage into the third qualifying round of the Champions League last night.

Neil Lennon’s side ran out 2-0 winners against Nomme Kalju of Estonia, giving them a 7-0 win on aggregate.

The goals last night came courtesy of an Aleksandr Kulinits own goal and a debut strike from Marian Shved.

Ukranian forward Shved is back at Celtic this season following his loan spell with Karpaty last season.

The versatile forward netted 15 goals and registered four assists last season and could prove a handy player for Celtic in 2019/20.

He is capable of playing on either flank and was deployed as such last night.

Shved arrived at Celtic Park for £2 million (Daily Record) in January but was loaned back to Karpaty.

Some Celtic supporters have become disgruntled with the club’s recruitment this summer but Shved looks an exciting player.

He has skills, pace and an eye for goal and he could be just the player Celtic need to unlock defences during the 2019/20 campaign.

Following last night’s goalscoring performance, Celtic fans took to Twitter to rave about the 22-year-old.

Here is a selection of tweets from supporters in the aftermath of Shved’s latest outing for the Hoops:
