Celtic loanee Luca Connell reacts to debut on Instagram; Jeremie Frimpong replies

Jeremie Frimpong was amongst those to reply to Luca Connell after the Celtic youngster took to Instagram to comment on making his Queen’s Park debut on Saturday.

The decision to loan Connell out appeared to split some of the Celtic fans during the week. With thoughts already turning to next season, some felt that he deserved a chance to prove that he could contribute to the first-team at Parkhead this term.

But with the 19-year-old still awaiting his Hoops debut, the decision was taken to send him to Scottish League Two for the rest of the campaign.

And he has made a positive start. The Irishman got 74 minutes under his belt as Queen’s Park beat Stranraer 3-0 at Hampden Park.

And he seemed to produce a hugely impressive display for the league leaders.

Unsurprisingly, the teenager was keen to express his delight at the victory on social media.

And the post attracted a few responses from Celtic players past and present. The most notable name was Frimpong.

But there was also praise from both Karamoko Dembele and Armstrong Okoflex. Judging by their responses, it would surely be fair to say that both youngsters felt that Connell deserved an opportunity much sooner.
