Reported Celtic target Sebastian Andersson could be available for just £3.5million, according to Berliner Zeitung.
The Hoops were initially linked with the Union Berlin striker back in December, with Bild claiming Neil Lennon’s club was eyeing the 28-year-old.
Now, a report from Sweden’s Fotboll Skanalen says Celtic are one of several teams who are keen on Andersson, along with Brighton, Valencia and Villarreal.
The 6ft 3in striker has netted 13 goals in all competitions this season, including 12 in the Bundesliga.
In addition, no player in the Bundesliga has scored more than his six headed goals.
Oliver Ruhnert, Union’s sporting director, is not surprised to see Andersson on the rumour mill.
“If a player scored twelve goals in the Bundesliga, it would be surprising if no other club were interested in him,” he told Berliner Zeitung.
The German capital outlet also claims Andersson’s new deal until 2022, penned in February, contains a £3.5million release clause.
Andersson is a high-calibre player with an impressive physical and aerial presence, as shown by his impressive goal tally, particularly when it comes to headers.
His reported £3.5million price tag is a snip, considering his credentials, and if Celtic were to lose Odsonne Edouard this summer, the Swede would be a decent investment with some of those funds.
