Scottish champions Celtic are interested in securing the services of Bournemouth winger Jordan Ibe, according to The Scottish Sun.

The Hoops were dumped out of the Champions League on Tuesday night after losing 4-3 at home to Cluj of Romania.

That defeat has seen boss Neil Lennon turn his attentions towards reinforcing his squad and the 23-year-old is firmly within his sights.

One stumbling block towards the Cherries allowing Ibe to join Celtic is an injury picked up by Arnaut Danjuma. The £13.7 million signing from Club Brugge has injured his foot and it is unsure yet just how long he will be out.

Howe has Harry Wilson, Ryan Fraser and Ibe as current wide options, with David Brooks on the treatment table.

Celtic aren’t the only interested party in Ibe. Napoli, Espanyol and Fiorentina are also keen on taking the winger on loan.

Hoops boss Lennon knows supporters will be disgruntled following their unexpected Champions League exit and a new signing or two might raise morale somewhat.

TBR Verdict – Celtic could be the perfect move for Ibe to rediscover his form

Ibe’s next move needs to involved regular first-team football and lots of it!

For the last few seasons, the former Liverpool man has been used as a peripheral figure and he desperately needs to revive his career.

Ibe was quality during a loan spell at Derby back during the 2014/15 campaign and he needs to find some form once again.

Celtic could be perfect for the 23-year-old. His all-action style of running at full-backs would make him lethal in the Scottish Premiership.

He is more than capable of playing regularly in that division whilst Lennon can also offer him Europa League football.

Ibe cost Bournemouth £15 million from Liverpool (BBC Sport) and is currently paid £38,000-a-week (Spotrac). That might prove tricky for Celtic, but if the Cherries can help with some of those wages, Celtic Park could prove just perfect for the winger to rediscover his form.
