Celtic are to increase their interest in Charlton Athletic star Joe Aribo once Neil Lennon is officially confirmed as the club’s permanent boss, according to the Scottish Sun.
The Northern Irishman was offered the job following last weekend’s Scottish Cup Final victory over Hearts. He is expected to put pen-to-paper as early as today.
Aribo has been in fine form for Charlton over the last 12 months, helping Lee Bowyer’s team to promotion from League One. The 22-year-old bagged ten goals and registered five assists during 2018/19.
Capable of playing in a number of positions, Aribo would certainly be an exciting signing for Celtic. It would also help them steal a march on Rangers who were also interested in taking the youngster to Ibrox.

Aribo is out of contract at The Valley this summer and in order to land him, Celtic will just need to negotiate a compensation package with Charlton due to his age.
TBR Verdict
Aribo has proved one of the most exciting players in the Football League this season and interest from the Old Firm comes as little surprise.
Celtic certainly need players for their attacking positions next season. Tim Weah and Oliver Burke will return to PSG and West Brom respectively following their loan spells.

Olivier Ntcham could also leave, so midfield options will become pretty short at Celtic Park.
Aribo is a player who could still go onto play at the very high end of football. The chance to play European football at Celtic could prove tough to turn down.
