Kilmarnock defender Greg Taylor has been identified as a potential replacement for Celtic star Kieran Tierney, according to the Daily Record.

The Hoops are set to receive a £25 million windfall from Arsenal for the Scotland left-back and have turned their attentions towards Taylor.

Taylor himself has one cap for Scotland and has 128 appearances to his name for Celtic’s Scottish Premiership rivals.

The 21-year-old is a product of the youth academy at his current club and was actually released by Rangers as a kid.

Losing Tierney is a body blow for Neil Lennon and it comes as no surprise that he has shortlisted a replacement pretty quickly.

Taylor is unlikely to cost much. The player would surely relish the chance to sign for such a prestigious club and that could smoothen any deal.

The defender is very similar to Tierney. He has earned rave reviews at Rugby Park and is comfortable in defence and attack.

Taylor picked up his first cap for Scotland against Belgium at the end of last season.

Celtic aren’t the only admirers of the youngster. German outfit Nuremberg are also keen and the Hoops will need to act quickly.

Neil Lennon has added four players to his ranks so far this summer.
