Celtic fans worried about ‘liability’ Jeremy Toljan ahead of Rangers

Celtic host Rangers on Sunday afternoon in the league – and many of the club’s supporters on Twitter are fearful about their defender Jeremy Toljan.

The 24-year-old has been a regular in the team in recent games for the Bhoys and cemented his spot at right-back.

He joined the club in January on loan from Borussia Dortmund and has shown he’s got tremendous pace to help join in with attacks.

But he’s also been caught out defensively too at times and some fans on social media are worried about that weakness of his game before the Old Firm derby.

Neil Lennon’s side know that a win will stretch their lead to second-placed Rangers to 13 points and they would all but have one hand on the title.

Celtic also have some revenge to hand out after they were beaten 1-0 at Ibrox by the Gers in the last game between the two Scottish giants.

They will need to be wary of Steven Gerrard’s time when they go forward though, as they do several goal threats in the shape of Ryan Kent and Alfredo Morelos.

Kent is a skilful left-winger with speed and directness, something which previously caused Celtic trouble earlier in the season down the flank.

Toljan is yet to have a taste of the Old Firm and it seems he doesn’t have the vote of confidence from some fans ahead of the game.
