Celtic fans urge Neil Lennon to pick Tom Rogic to start against Rangers on Saturday

Neil Lennon has numerous issues to contend with when it comes to picking his Celtic starting-line up to face Rangers in the first Old Firm derby of the 2020-21 season – and Hoops fans want Tom Rogic to start.

The Hoops take on Rangers at Parkhead with the Old Firm atmosphere missing – due to the lack of fans in the stadium. But the importance of the match remains the same, with Celtic boasting a huge chance to overtake Rangers.

Lennon’s side still boast a game in hand over Rangers and sit just a point behind Steven Gerrard’s men. But a win could see them claim a tight stronghold on their pursuit of 10 in a row, as they would go two clear having played one less match.

Celtic will definitely be without trio Ryan Christie, Nir Bitton and Hatem Abd Elhamed and they could be joined by star striker Odsonne Edouard who will come out of isolation no later than Friday. That hands Rangers a big boost.

But it could see the return of Rogic. The 27-year-old has only played 14 minutes this season, coming off the bench in the last match to feature for the fina sixth of the 2-0 win over St. Johnstone. But his form against Rangers in the past is unquestionable.

Rogic has faced Rangers 12 times throughout his Celtic career and has netted five times in those matches. That kind of form should be seriously considered by Lennon – and sure enough, Celtic fans want him to start.
