A number of Celtic fans have taken to Twitter to rejoice in Marian Shved’s goalscoring display for the Hoops reserves’ friendly on Tuesday afternoon.
The Ukraine international has barely got a look in at Celtic under Neil Lennon this season, with just three first-team appearances – all off the bench.
Shved was signed by Brendan Rodgers shortly before he quit Celtic for Leicester City, the player subsequently seeing out the season on loan back at Karpaty Lviv.
The 22-year-old finished the 2018-19 season with an impressive 15 goals and four assists from 26 appearances in all competitions (Transfermarkt).

Therefore, there were high hopes amongst fans that Shved would be able to make an impact for the defending treble Treble champions.
However, things have not gone to plan, with just 40 minutes of first team action under his belt (Transfermarkt).
Nonetheless, Shved could potentially have sent a big statement to Lennon by getting on the scoresheet in the behind-closed-doors 4-0 win over Aberdeen.
The winger headed home Celtic’s third after being picked out by a pinpoint Daniel Church cross, and the Hoops social media update saw plenty of fans celebrate.
Here is some of the social media reaction to Shved’s efforts:
