Erik Sviatchenko has helped his FC Midtjylland side reach the final of the Danish Cup after a superb 4-0 win over Odense Boldklub on Wednesday night – and Celtic fans have reacted on Twitter.

The 27-year-old centre-back has been in fine form since leaving Celtic to return to his home country in July 2018 – after an initial loan that saw him join Midtjylland on loan in January.

Sviatchenko has made 26 appearances for Midtjylland this season, helping the Danish side win 16 matches and keep nine clean sheets. He has scored two goals, and even laid on three assists.

He posted on Twitter in delight after Midtjylland had reached the final with an excellent display. They now face Brondby on May 17 in the final, while there is a chance of doing the double with his side three points off first.

The Daily Record claimed Celtic raked in £1million for the Denmark international, after he plummeted down the pecking order under Brendan Rodgers behind the likes of Jozo Simunovic, Kris Ajer and Dedryck Boyata.

Celtic fans reacted to Sviatchenko’s post, with many delighted for their former centre-back as he embarks on a potential double. Some Celtic fans even replied by urging the powerhouse to return to Parkhead under Neil Lennon.
