Celtic fans react to Scottish FA’s decision about Leigh Griffiths incident
Griffiths will not face any action for the flashpoint in the weekend victory at Hamilton.
Celtic striker Leigh Griffiths will face no further action for an alleged stamping incident in the weekend victory over Hamilton.
The Daily Record report that a three-man SFA Judicial Panel have cleared the Scottish striker and he will not be banned.
Celtic went on to win the match 4-1 and Griffiths’ continued availability should help maintain the momentum which has taken them further clear of Rangers since the return to action after the winter break.
The panel have decided that Griffiths’ actions did not meet the threshold for the use of “excessive force and/or brutality” and he is available for the trip to Motherwell tomorrow night and the weekend’s Scottish Cup clash with Clyde.

Understandably, many Celtic fans on Twitter were overjoyed with the news. Some felt that the incident should never have been reviewed to that extent anyway.
Others felt that the decision will wind up rival fans – and there were plenty of other replies to the tweet which bears that out – and were reveling in that.
There is a sense of vindication from the supporters of the league leaders and we’ve put together the best of the reaction.
Pretty timid stuff really. Yellow all day long.

Genuinely didn’t think it a red at the time, thought his boot grabbed when trying to step over the player.. clearly on camera. https://t.co/3ifv4AvC5T https://t.co/SZoe0snleC

Correct! It was not up for discussion, I'd question the motivation for such request by others.

If you see the picture, definite red.
If you see the video, you can see why it's not.

3 former refs ? Wow what about 1000s of guys who’ve never ref’d a game and never actually watched it but said it was a red all day long ? Worst tackle of the game was a shocking foul on McGregor , guy got a yellow never even got a mention but hey ho

So that's 3 ex refs, the match ref, bt sports ex ref, sky sports ex ref now all saying no red… yet @ClydeSSB pundits maintaining they're all wrong? Definitely damages their pundit's credibility… what say you @shinjukushug ?
— Kev (@kevmac582) February 4, 2020
It was never a red anyway so what’s the problem
— TheMaestro8 (@Maestro8The) February 4, 2020
