Celtic are reportedly interested in Maccabi Tel Aviv attacker Yonatan Cohen – and some of the club’s supporters on Twitter are delighted with the speculation.

The Scottish Sun reports that Neil Lennon’s team are eyeing the Israel international and that he’s a “prime target” to try sign in January.

It is understood that Israeli top-flight side Maccabi Tel Aviv will find it difficult to “resist” an offer if his £2.5million valuation is tabled.

The report also adds that the Bhoys head of recruitment Nick Hammond has been impressed after watching him in the flesh.

Cohen has been a real talisman for his team during this camping, scoring nine goals and supplying seven assists in 20 games across all competitions.

He’s a skilful wide player that can operate on either flank and is importantly good with both feet.

Cohen would be the latest Israeli at Parkhead if he did move to Celtic, as compatriots Hatem Abd Elhamed and Nir Bitton are already in the first-team squad.

A selection of Celtic supporters on social media have reacted positively to links with Cohen and feel he could add something to the current squad.

Lennon’s team find themselves in the knockout rounds of the Europa League and are in a serious title race with Old Firm rivals Rangers, so a couple of fresh faces should boost them for the second half of the season.
