Celtic fans react to performance of Leigh Griffiths in Kilmarnock win

Celtic moved 12 points clear of Rangers at the top of the Scottish Premiership after a dominant 3-1 victory over Kilmarnock at Celtic Park.

The Hoops were buoyed with the news that St Johnstone had held the Gers to a 2-2 draw earlier in the day, with the gap at the top of the table now even bigger.

Eamonn Brophy fired the visitors into an early lead from the penalty spot but that was as fruitful as their trip to Glasgow got.

Kristoffer Ajer added to his tally for the season after 28 minutes before Odsonne Edouard put Celtic in front five minutes later.

Striker Leigh Griffiths put the seal on the victory on 62 minutes and the Hoops looks firmly on course for another league title.

The performance of Griffiths caught the eye. He has been like a new signing since a resurgence in form following the winter break.

The 29-year-old now has five goals in all competitions since the mid-season break and is edging back to his best with each passing week.

Celtic face an important week. On Thursday they host FC Copenhagen in the second leg of their Europa League tie; before facing St Johnstone in the quarter-final of the Scottish Cup next weekend.

Griffiths is likely to be trusted by Neil Lennon to get more minutes under his belt during the cup competitions and following the game, supporters took to Twitter.
