Celtic fans react to performance of David Turnbull during 1-1 draw

Celtic missed the chance to make some ground on Rangers last night as they were held to a 1-1 draw by Hibernian at Celtic Park.

Kevin Nisbet cancelled out David Turnbull’s goal and the Hoops trail their fierce rivals by 21 points in the race for title number 10 in succession.

Celtic huffed and puffed but never really looked fluent as they missed several top stars.

Neil Lennon must be close to conceding the title race to his bitter rivals, with the chances of chasing down Rangers now looking increasingly slim.

One man who did shine during the contest was Turnbull who must have thought he’d grabbed a winning goal.

The player who signed from Motherwell for £3.25 million was once again bang up for the contest and lively from the off.

Turnbull has now scored six goals and claimed three assists during 2020/21 and is becoming a mainstay in Lennon’s team.

He has been a regular starter in recent weeks having initially been forced to wait patiently for a chance.

Following last night’s disappointing result, supporters did hold some praise for Turnbull’s display.

Here is what Celtic fans were saying about the 21-year-old after another poor result for the Hoops.
