Olivier Ntcham scored twice as Celtic beat Partick Thistle in the League Cup. Celtic progressed to the last four alongside Hearts, Hibernian and Rangers after beating Partick last night.

In a home clash with Partick, Neil Lennon made a number of changes but Celtic still got the win. Ntcham was the standout performer in green and white hoops, scoring two impressive goals.

Vakoun Issouf Bayo opened the scoring after 15 minutes with a well-taken header. Tom Rogic doubled the lead seconds after half-time and then Ntcham got involved.

The Frenchman opened fire from 30 yards and sent the ball right into the top corner to make it 3-0 on 56 minutes. Seven minutes later, Ntcham burst into the box, moved the ball onto his right foot and hit a low shot through the defender’s legs, off the inside of the post and in the back of the net.

Scott Sinclair added further gloss to the scoreline with a 76th-minute strike to make it 5-0 in the second half. But it was Ntcham that oozed class and showed he was head and shoulders above the rest.

Here are some tweets reacting to the 23-year-old’s performance.
