Celtic ended up with a 1-1 draw away to Copenhagen on Thursday night – and some of the club’s fans on Twitter picked out striker Odsonne Edouard for immense praise following his display.
The Bhoys managed a vital away goal in the first leg of their Europa League Round of 32 tie, with the second leg taking place next week at Parkhead.
Edouard opened the scoring in the first-half with a delicate chipped finish and it was an opening 45 minutes where the Scottish champions were firmly on top.
But Copenhagen did respond in the second-half to apply some pressure and Dame N’Doye managed to grab an equaliser for the Danish hosts.
Neil Lennon’s team will be slight favourites to progress from the European tie, but have plenty of work to do in the second meeting and fortunately have been excellent at home this campaign.
A selection of Celtic supporters on social media singled out Edouard for his contribution on the European stage.
The 22-year-old may have seen a couple of early shots saved by the goalkeeper, but he continued getting in the right areas and showed his composure with his brilliant goal.
He now has 24 goals in 40 games across all competitions this season, as well as 17 assists too.
The French centre-forward battled away in attack against Copenhagen and was right in the thick of it, as he proved once again why he’s got a massive future ahead of him.
Here are some Celtic fans on Edouard:
Edouard didnt even look up to score that goal last night.
A sublime talent.

We should break the bank, wage structure whatever it takes to keep Édouard for next season. Could get us CL football and pay for himself.

I love to watch Edouard 🍋 on the pitch, head a shoulders above everyone. I fear he won’t be in the hoops much longer so enjoying it while it lasts
