There is some mixed reaction from Celtic fans after Neil Lennon provided an injury update on Odsonne Edouard.
Edouard has had a niggle which has kept him out of the last three games. He missed the league game against Ross County, the Europa League clash with Rennes and the midweek match against Hamilton Academical.
Celtic scraped past Hamilton thanks to Scott Brown’s late goal. But with Rangers drawing, Celtic moved two points clear at the top. It gives them a confidence boost ahead of the cup final against their bitter rivals at the weekend.
Lennon remains coy on Edouard injury
After the Hamilton game, Lennon was asked about Edouard. He said (via @CelticFC): “@Oedouard22 was out running today and will be assessed again tomorrow and maybe train on Friday.”
Edouard is Celtic’s best striker and he has 13 goals and 12 assists in 25 games this season. Without the Frenchman, Celtic would be struggling for centre-forward options. Leigh Griffiths – who is still recovering from his injuries – and young attacking midfielder Mikey Johnston are the alternatives.
