Neil Lennon is facing heavy criticism for his team selection after Celtic crashed out of the Champions League. The Bhoys missed out against Romanian side CFR Cluj after a 4-3 loss on the night and a 5-4 aggregate defeat.
Celtic returned to Glasgow with a 1-1 scoreline from the first leg after James Forrest got the away goal. But that away goal was matched on 27 minutes and Cluj took a 1-0 lead into the second half.
In a turbulent second period, Forrest and Odsonne Edouard pulled Celtic back in front but Bilal Omrani’s penalty made it 3-3 with Cluj leading on away goals. Ryan Christie quickly restored Celtic’s lead but Omrani put the visitors level moments later.
With Celtic chasing a late goal to avoid an away goals defeat, George Tucudean sealed the victory with a late strike. It was a catastrophic night for Celtic and Lennon faced backlash.
McGregor plays at left-back

His decision to play Callum McGregor at left-back was widely scrutinised. Boli Bolingoli sat on the bench while McGregor – arguably Celtic’s best midfielder – was forced to play at full-back.
Here are some tweets from Celtic fans who were shocked at that decision.
