Celtic fans react to Marian Shved’s cameo role in win over Clyde

Celtic earned a comfortable 3-0 win over Scottish League One side Clyde away from home on Sunday afternoon as they progressed into the Scottish Cup quarter-finals – and supporters have reacted to Marian Shved’s late cameo role.

Shved, 22, has endured a very difficult spell at Celtic since completing a move to the club over 12 months ago in January 2019. Saturday’s very late outing against Clyde was just his third for Celtic’s senior team.

Celtic took the lead in the first half after Olivier Ntcham cut inside from the left flank, and smashed an effort into the far corner past Clyde goalkeeper David Mitchell. The Scottish champions dominated the match from there on in, despite the conditions.

New signing Patryk Klimala missed a sitter after going through on goal following a nice passage of play from James Forrest, but it was Scott Brown that doubled Celtic’s lead – bundling the ball home from a corner.

A third goal came after £2million signing [The Scottish Sun] Shved came on in the 85th. He played in Mortiz Bauer, who used his strength to hand Vakoun Bayo an easy chance and the substitute tucked the ball into the back of the net with ease.

Celtic fans reacted to his cameo role and the decision by Neil Lennon to hand the Ukraine international just a handful of minutes in what was his third appearance of the season.
