A number of Celtic fans have taken to Twitter to comment on Liam Scales after the 23-year-old made his full Scottish Premiership debut in the Hoops’ dramatic win over Ross County on Wednesday.

Ange Postecoglou’s men have kept themselves within four points of the summit after a 96th minute winner from Anthony Ralston in Dingwall.

Postecoglou was forced to include a number of younger players within the side and on the bench. Josip Juranovic was deployed on the right around the forward line.

And with that, Scales was promoted to the starting lineup for his full debut in the top-flight. It was not a flawless night for the Irishman. He made an error for the home side’s goal just before the hour mark.

But for the large majority of Celtic fans, Scales’s performance was incredibly encouraging. Perhaps unsurprisingly, many felt compelled to compare his performance with the form often showed by Greg Taylor.

Taylor is a divisive figure amongst the fanbase. And for several, Scales’s display was much more encouraging. He provided the assist for Liel Abada and was constantly willing to get forward.

David Turnbull was the only Celtic player to make a greater number of key passes, according to Whoscored. Meanwhile, no member of the Hoops squad won more tackles.

And while the equaliser highlighted where Scales still needs to learn, plenty of supporters insisted that Scales definitely has something about him.
