Celtic fans react to latest regarding Scott Sinclair’s future at club

Celtic are reportedly open to selling the winger at £2.5 million this summer.

Celtic are reportedly open to the sale of Scott Sinclair this summer. The Lancashire Evening Post is reporting that Preston North End want to sign the attacker this summer.

They have reportedly asked about a potential season-long loan deal for the 30-year-old. However, Celtic want £2.5 million for the player and onle want to sell him permanently as they look to make some money off their high-earning star.

The writing for Sinclair at Celtic has been on the wall for some time. It is clear Neil Lennon is not as big a fan of the player as predecessor Brendan Rodgers was.

Youngster Mikey Johnston now looks like being preferred to Sinclair. As reported by Football Scotland, Sinclair is earning around £30,000-a-week at Parkhead, wages that Lennon wants to be redistributed elsewhere.

The reaction from Celtic fans to this news, it seems, is mixed.

Many feel that, from a business perspective, Celtic are making the right move. It is fair to say Sinclair is not performing at the same level as he did in 2016-17, when he scored 21 goals in 35 league appearances.

However, Sinclair still managed 17 goals last season, and Celtic will clearly struggle to fill that goalscoring void with what they currently have at their disposal.

Some feel Sinclair is a valuable asset that Celtic should not be so quick to move on.

Here is the best reaction on Twitter from a selection of Celtic fans…
