Celtic fans react to Brown’s long-awaited goal in cup thrashing of St Johnstone

The return of Scott Brown has been a major factor behind Celtic’s exceptionally strong start to 2019, but the Bhoys skipper does not find the back of the net very often.

So it was something of a collectors item when Brown found the back of the net in yesterday’s 5-0 thumping of St Johnstone in the Scottish Cup.

And it was even more memorable because of the nature of the strike, an absolutely stunning effort from 25 yards into the top corner to make it 2-0 and set his side on the way to another impressive win.

The goal was certainly worth the wait and came on an afternoon where Brendan Rodgers’ side enjoyed some perfect preparation for the midweek visit of Valencia in the last 32 of the Europa League.

Celtic fans are loving having their skipper back in the fold and their side’s run of good form is only adding to that mood of excitement.
