A number of Celtic fans have taken to Twitter to comment on James Forrest’s performance as the Hoops beat Hibernian 2-0 at Parkhead to return to the Scottish Premiership’s summit.

Neil Lennon’s men were dominant against Hibs. BBC Sport shows that the Hoops had 21 attempts on goal during the game, while the visitors had four.

Goals from Jeremie Frimpong and Odsonne Edouard ensured that the Bhoys have reclaimed top spot. But it appears that not every player in the Celtic side received pass marks from the fans.

It appears that a number of supporters were unhappy with Forrest’s display in the victory. The winger actually provided the assist for Edouard’s goal with a composed piece of play at the back post.

However, some feel that he has been out of form for some time. He should have perhaps scored during Sunday’s win. And others have accused the 28-year-old of going missing during the game.

Forrest actually boasts a fantastic record this term, scoring seven and providing seven assists in the top flight alone. No player has contributed more assists so far this season.

Nevertheless, some are clearly adamant that the wide-man has been some way off his best for a while. It has been suggested that he needs to be dropped for a game or two.

Forrest certainly has the quality to turn his fortunes around – he has come back from a lot worse – but the fans are keen to see a lot more from the Scotland international in the coming games.

Here is what some of the supporters made of Forrest’s display…
