Celtic took on Lyon in a pre-season friendly last night and came out on the losing side against tough opposition in the Ligue 1 giants.
Goals from former Celtic star Moussa Dembele and Memphis Depay gave Lyon a 2-0 lead before Mo Elyounoussi’s late goal sparked hope of a comeback that never materialised.
It was a tough game to truly gauge anything from, as Celtic were playing several fringe players as Neil Lennon looks to build up the match fitness in his team ahead of the start of the new season.
But there were some positives to take from the game for Celtic fans.
One player who caught the eye among many was Ismaila Soro.
Signed from Bnei Yehuda in Israel back in January for a reported £2 million (The Sun), the 22-year-old Ivorian has yet to make his senior debut for Celtic.

So seeing the midfield dynamo in action certainly piqued the interest of Celtic fans, many of which were impressed with what they saw.
He showed plenty of energy and enthusiasm and some decent touches on the ball, as well as showcasing his strength in possession and in the tackle.
Some Celtic fans saw enough to believe that the Bhoys have a talent on their hand that with careful nurturing can be a real asset to the club.
He is far from the finished article but it is possible that Soro is a diamond that can be polished with the right developmental plan.
