Celtic have announced the signing of Brighton and Hove Albion defender Shane Duffy on their official website this morning.
The 28-year-old central defender joins on a season-long loan deal from the Premier League outfit and bolsters Neil Lennon’s defensive ranks.
According to the Daily Record, Celtic will be paying £22,500-a-week during his temporary stint at Parkhead, having paid a £1 million loan fee for his services.
Celtic have got Christopher Jullien and Kristoffer Ajer as their two centre-backs at present and it’ll be interesting to see where Duffy slots in.

The Hoops have fought off stiff competition for the defender, with Premier League clubs West Brom and West Ham both fancying the experienced professional.
Duffy is currently away with the Republic of Ireland team where he will be hoping to add to his 33 international caps.
When he returns he will undoubtedly bolster the Celtic ranks with vast experience.
He’s played 96 games in the Premier League and a further 132 at Championship level.
Following this morning’s announcement, Celtic fans have been commenting on Twitter regarding his arrival at the club.
It would seem that the vast majority are buzzing with his presence in the squad and can’t wait to see him in action.
