A number of Celtic fans have taken to Twitter to comment on reports from the Daily Record claiming that Burnley are interested in Ryan Christie.
Christie’s future at Parkhead currently looks to be a little uncertain. According to the Daily Record, his contract expires in 2022. Discussions over an extension however, are underway.
But it appears that Sean Dyche’s side are keen to throw a spanner in the works as the transfer deadline looms.
According to the Record, the Clarets boss is a long-time admirer of the 25-year-old. And he reportedly deems Christie to be a potential bargain buy in this window.
However, judging by what some of the Hoops fans make of the reports, it would appear that there is very little chance of a bargain deal being done.
Admittedly, there are some who would not be too disappointed if Christie was sold. Some believe that he has not been quite at the level that he had been previously.
‘Bids start at 25 million’
However, it appears that the majority want him to stay, or they are only interested in seeing him leave for a considerable fee with the window now in its final days.
Here is how some of the Celtic fans reacted to the reports concerning Burnley’s interest…
Bids start at 25 million. @CelticFC

Been torn on this tbh
Way I see it, in a season as important as this, we can’t be selling any big players unnecessarily, even if he has taken a dip in form recently https://t.co/EvRuhArkJm

Similar to ones who would punt Ajer, wouldn’t realise how good of player he was till he was gone. Double figures goals and assists from midfield hard to replace https://t.co/ShVNH3EjsK

🤔 What’s the valuation? If he goes then we need Ntcham to sign a new deal and stay put, can’t lose both before the window shuts IMO. https://t.co/1svECNxlPe
