Celtic fans react as Zander Clark posts on Twitter, after goal against Rangers

Zander Clark was the hero on Sunday evening as St. Johnstone pulled off an incredible shock result to beat Rangers on penalties in the Scottish Cup after taking the game to extra-time – and Celtic fans have reacted to his Tweet.

In what was a flat performance from Rangers, the game sparked into life in extra-time. Firstly, James Tavernier opened the scoring as he rose highest to nod home a brilliant cross from Joe Aribo to score his 18th of the season.

But St. Johnstone were not done. In injury time of extra time, the clock reading 122 minutes, goalkeeper Clark jogged to opposing penalty area as Callum Davidson’s side went after an equaliser – and he got it, bizzarely.

The goalkeeper was left unmarked in the six-yard box and his header went towards goal. Replays suggest that it might be Chris Kane who got the telling touch – and Clark joked on Twitter if anyone has the goals panel number.

More importantly for Clark and the Saints, they then went into a penalty shootout in which Clark produced more heroics, saving penalties from the normally-reliable James Tavernier – and then striker Kemar Roofe.

Clark and St. Johnstone reacted with delight at the result, as did Celtic fans on social media. Many Hoops supporters responded to the goalkeeper’s Tweet, applauding the Glasgow-born stopper for his efforts.
