Celtic fans react as Vakoun Issouf Bayo nets twice

Neil Lennon gave Vakoun Issouf Bayo a chance to impress against Hearts on Sunday and he did not waste the opportunity. Bayo scored twice as Celtic cruised to a 3-1 victory over Hearts to regain their spot at the top of the league.

The Bhoys have three wins in three and now Bayo is off the mark. He netted the opener and the third goal in the comfortable win with Callum McGregor getting the other.

Bayo will score prettier goals in his career but he will take them for now. The Ivorian forward bundled in the opener and has been given the goal despite Christophe Berra claiming it was his own goal.

Then, in the second half, Bayo’s flick from Kristoffer Ajer’s cross beat Joel Pereira in the Hearts goal. There was a hint of an own goal in this one too but Bayo was credited with the strike.

The 22-year-old has had to wait patiently for his chance at Celtic. Since joining last January, this was only his fourth outing. He played once last season and had only played seven minutes this term before the Hearts game. Here are some tweets reacting to his display.
